Pride Space CIC offers a limited number of volunteer student/trainee counsellor placements a year. We are looking for LGBTQ+ counsellors to work with our LGBTQ+ client base.

Pride Space is staffed by a mixture of qualified, experienced counsellors and trainees registered with professional bodies.

Trainee counsellors are welcome to complete their required clinical practice hours with us as part of their qualification. In return, we offer clinical in-house supervision, administrative support, mentorship, training opportunities, and a place within a vibrant and supportive community.

If you’re interested in joining us for a placement or volunteering your time, please read on to learn more.

We welcome applications from students currently enrolled in a recognised counselling training programme who hold a valid ‘Fitness to Practise’ certificate, as well as from qualified counsellors seeking to gain hours toward accreditation, broaden their experience, or contribute their time as volunteers.

Requirements for the application

  • You are able to provide written confirmation from your training agency that you have been sufficiently prepared for, and are ready for clinical practice (Readiness to practice)
  • You are a member of an appropriate Governing Body e.g. BACP, UKCP
  • You have a recent, up-to-date DBS check in place
  • You have up-to-date insurance
