Welcome to Pride Space counselling and therapy service. A specialised free and low-cost therapy service for LGBTQ+ people in the UK. Our waiting list is currently open and we’re accepting applications for our free and low-cost therapy services as well as support and therapy groups.
About our counsellors and therapists
At Pride Space CIC, our counsellors come from a variety of backgrounds and are skilled in working with people from all different walks of life. They are compassionate listeners, trained to fully hear you without judgment, helping you explore your current challenges, past experiences, and future concerns.
Rather than giving advice or telling you what you should feel or do, our counsellors are here to support you in making your own decisions and guiding the changes you want to see in your life.
Many of our counsellors are members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and those who aren’t, have undergone further or advanced training.
Every counsellor is DBS-checked via their training provider and professionally supervised, ensuring they follow the BACP’s Ethical Framework for the Counselling Profession.
Because our team is so diverse, we can offer a range of counselling styles and approaches, known as modalities. You can click here to learn more about the different modalities we offer.
Read our privacy and GDPR policy here. All data collected on this form is confidential and is not shared outside Pride Space CIC. We will contact you for further information once our books are open and we’re taking new therapy clients.
How does our free therapy work?
We offer a limited number of free counselling sessions—up to 6 per client. These can take place online or in person at our centre in Nottingham city centre. There is a waiting list for this service. To find out more, please fill in the form, and we’ll be in touch.
What does our low-cost therapy cost?
Our low-cost online counselling and therapy service costs just £36 per 50 minutes. If you’d like to see our therapists at our centre in Nottingham’s city centre the charge is £40.
What is our Pay-What-You-Can service?
Around 10% of our slots are pay-what-you-can slots, which take place online. The suggested minimum for the session is £5. These spaces are reserved for the unemployed, students, or those with limited financial ability.
What do group sessions cost?
We have two group sessions – support groups, which are usually peer-led and therapy groups which are fully facilitated. Each group will have some free and low-cost spaces. Generally a space on a peer or therapy group is £10 per session. Details of our forthcoming groups will be listed on our Everbrite page.
