This page is to help explain our Pay What You Can (PWYC) service. PrideSpace CIC is a community interest company (registered number 14719542) and we run our services without any grant funding, so while we can provide some therapy free of charge for those most in need, we ask that clients, who can afford something, to contribute towards their sessions.

Our Pay What You Can model is rooted in accessibility, fairness, and trust. Sessions are offered on a sliding scale from £15 to £40, with no means testing or proof required. We ask you to pay what feels sustainable for you, knowing that those who can pay more help make counselling available to those who can pay less.

This shared approach allows us to support a diverse community and reduce financial barriers to accessing care.

We understand that circumstances shift, and you’re welcome to move up or down the scale at any time. This shared approach allows us to support a diverse community while reducing financial barriers to care.

You can either discuss this with your counsellor or with our admin team by calling 0115 891 8456 ext 226.

You will typically discuss your counselling fee within your first session with your counsellor. Payments should be made before the start of each session.

Payments will be made directly to PrideSpace – through our subscription scheme or paying for them on the day in The Pride Shop. You will be sent payment details before your first session.

Please make sure that you pay before the start of your first session.
